Today Capital Group LLC (“TCG”) collects personal information when you check your eligibility or apply for financing on this site, use the client portal, or contact us. This notice, given at those points, is required by the California Consumer Privacy Act. Section 11 of our Privacy Policy has the full explanation and your rights.
What we collect
- Identifiers: name, email address, phone number, postal address, IP address and online identifiers; at the full-application stage, Social Security number and business tax identification number.
- Contact, financial and signature information described in California Civil Code section 1798.80(e).
- Commercial information: the financing you request and any existing financing.
- Financial information: bank statements, transaction data you authorise, revenue and credit history.
- Internet activity: how you use the site and interact with our advertising.
- Professional information: your role and ownership in the business.
- Our underwriter’s assessment of which financing types may fit your request, based on the information above.
- Sensitive personal information: Social Security number, financial account information and portal sign-in codes.
Why we collect it
- To check eligibility, prepare your request and present it to the third-party funders who decide whether to make an offer.
- To contact you about your request, in line with the consent you give.
- To verify identity and prevent fraud.
- To operate, secure and improve the site, and to measure our advertising.
- To comply with the law and enforce our agreements.
Selling and sharing
We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies on the marketing pages may count as “sharing” under California law; you can opt out by turning on Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honour automatically, or by contacting us. Sensitive personal information is used only for the purposes the CCPA permits.
How long we keep it
For as long as your request is open, and afterwards for as long as we need it to serve you and to meet legal, regulatory, accounting and audit obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified. An eligibility check that never gives us a way to contact you is kept only for a short time.
